This Easter, I finally put the finishing touches on a very beautiful piece, that I have had in my WIP box for quite a while, but this year I was determined that it would be finished in time to hang up for Easter. It is appropriately titled "Easter's Promise", by Mike Vickery. I absolutely loved stitching this wonderful design with it's beautiful cross, surrounded by the beauty of spring's glorious blooms of colour too.
Materials: Navy 28 Count Lugana
DMC Fibers
Brass Hammered Double Bell Pull
Just thought that you might enjoy a few close-up views too. This is truly one of my most treasured pieces that I have ever stitched.
This is one of my favorite hymns, called
"When I Survey the Wondrous Cross"
(by Isaac Watts, 1674-1748)
"When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all. Amen.
Easter Blessings!
