A bit about the book

Can attending a wedding and a funeral on the same day change your life? Mindy Winslow’s life was altered forever when she met gorgeous lawyer, Drew Armstrong, and found out about her inheritance from her mentor, Lou. Embraced by the townsfolk at the wedding of her college roommate, Mindy sought to make her goal a reality in tiny Pine Grove, New York. But the exposure of a promise
made then broken secretly, destroyed her dream. Will she be forced to face “I told you so” from her father or will love find a way to resurrect hope from the ashes?
MINDY
“Do you love me, Drew?” She rolled on her side to face him.
“I thought we were going to have fun and none of this serious stuff?”
“That’s what I said but you…you’re…different.” She cradled her head in her hand.
“Different in a good way or different like Quasimoto?”
She laughed. “Different in a good way.” Mindy grabbed the lapels of his jacket and pulled him closer. Her lips brushed his.
“In that case, maybe I do love you. And how do you feel?”
DREW
“Could we have French toast two days in a row?”

He grinned.
“Don’t wanna cook, eh?”
She giggled.
“Honestly? I loved your French toast.”
“You twisted my arm. French toast it is.” He slid her closer, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her back against his chest. His lips nuzzled her neck. “I’d rather have you for breakfast,” he murmured.
“How about me with a side of French toast?”

APRIL

April stood at the sink, washing lettuce with Gavin flush up behind her. His arms were wound snugly around his wife. Mindy could guess where his hands were. His head was bent, his face buried in her neck. April’s head lay back against his shoulder, her eyes were closed.
GAVIN
“Can we ride over there after dinner?” April asked.
“Course, Springtime,” Gavin said, brushing her lips with his.
“They kiss a lot,” Drew whispered loudly behind his hand.
“They’re newlyweds!” Mindy snickered. She cuddled closer to Drew on the sofa, warming herself in front of the fire.
